Regina José Galindo (*1974, lives in Guatemala City) is a feminist artist. In her performances she tackles conditions of political injustice and the force used through biased power relations. In her actions she challenges her own self in physically and psychically extreme situations. Regina José Galindo took part in 49th (2001), 51st (2005), 53rd (2009) as well as 54th (2011) Biennale in Venice and has received numerous prizes, including the 2005 Golden Lion of 51st Venice Biennale in the category of “Youngest Artist”. Amongst other places, exhibitions at: Kunstverein Frankfurt (2016); CAAM, Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno (2013); ISOLA ART CENTER, Milan (2012); Migros Museum, Zürich (2010); Biennale of Sydney 2010; 10th Havana Biennale (2009); Kunsthalle Vienna (2008).
