Schwarmwesen’s Forking Horizon

In his performances Johannes Paul Raether creates alien beings (identicatures) that are composed of multiple identities and that constantly study themselves. In the HafenCity, a sculpture will be sunk into a building pit filled with water. A swarm creature will study the movement of bodies and commodities in, from, and into Hamburg as well as the role of cruise ships and the container port in the imagination of a global trading city. In the spirit of an “expanded site-specificity”, this artistic fiction is directed at the site of the performance as a pluriverse.
