An drei Abenden zeigt Stadtkuratorin Hamburg Filme, Videos, Dokumentationen zu Stadt und Feminismus. KünstlerInnen spiegeln im filmischen Raum urbane Körperpolitiken aus (queer-) feministischen Perspektiven wider und befragen vergesellschaftete Geschlechterverhältnisse des öffentlichen Raums. In den Video- und Filmprogrammen werden Perspektiven aus über 50 Jahren Kunst- und Filmgeschichte gezeigt und kommentiert. Let’s Risk the Body eröffnet die Diskussion für das finale Sommerprogramm im Mai 2016. Welchen Feminismus braucht es heute angesichts von globalen Finanzkapitalismus, Migration und Transgender (oder Agender)-Bewegungen — und damit welche urbanen Commons lassen sich aktuell formulieren jenseits der Kämpfe um Reproduktionsverhältnisse, Immaterielle Arbeit und Fürsorge?

Nach dem Auftaktsymposium Europe, the City Is Burning (2014) und dem Jahresprogramm It might be Possible the World Itself Is without Meaning* (2015), die sich auf Fragen nach Dekolonialität, Migration und Citizenship im urbanen Raum in turbulenten Zeiten bezogen, endet das Projekt Stadtkuratorin Hamburg seine Aktivitäten mit dem Symposium und Performancefestival What Time Is it on the Clock of the World*. Kollektiv werden Fragen nach Sexismus, Rassismus und ganz aktuell Rape Culture (z. B. in Köln und Hamburg) im Verhältnis zur (Un-)Sichtbarkeit von Migration und stereotypen Geschlechterrollen diskutiert. Wie kann der öffentliche Raum feministisch-politisch neu gedacht / definiert sowie dessen Verflechtungen in globale Machtstrukturen aufzeigt werden? Wie lassen sich derzeitige Entwicklungen wie Neo-Faschismus in Europa und andernorts in Kunst, Kultur und Akademie — genauso wie auf den Straßen und in der Gesellschaft — überwinden? Gemeinsam soll ein Glossar zum urbanen Raum aus feministisch-politischer Perspektive entworfen werden.

On three evenings Stadtkuratorin Hamburg will present films, videos, and documentaries about the city and feminism. In the filmic space artists reflect urban body politics from (queer) feminist perspectives and question socialized gender relations in public space. In the video and film programs perspectives from over 50 years of art and film history will be shown and commented. Let’s Risk the Body will open the discussion for the final summer program in May 2016. Which Feminism do we need today in the face of financial capitalism, migration and transgender (or agender) movements—and thus which urban commons could be formulated currently beyond the struggles with reproduction, immaterial labor, and care work?

After the opening conference Europe, the City Is Burning (2014) and the one-year program It might be Possible the World Itself Is without Meaning* (2015) related to questions of decoloniality, migration and citizenship in urban space in times of turbulence and urgency, we want to conclude our activities with a symposium and the performance festival What Time Is it on the Clock of the World*. Questions of sexism, racism, and lately rape culture (e.g. in Cologne and Hamburg) in relation to the (in) visibility of migration and stereotyped gender will be discussed collectively. How could public space in feminist-political terms be rethought / redefined and its entanglements in Global power structures be shown? How could we conquer current developments such as neo-Fascism in Europe and elsewhere in art, culture, and academia as well as on the streets and in society? Together a glossary of feminist political space will be drafted.
